The Volunteer Center of Trinidad and Tobago (VCTT), a non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Trinidad & Tobago, connects skilled volunteers with NGOs and community-based organisations (CBOs) in the Caribbean.  

Through its Caribbean Volunteer Exchange network of partners, VCTT mobilized 1,528 volunteers in Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Jamaica, Haiti and Saint Lucia in commemoration of Good Deeds Day on April 15, 2018. They were among 3.5 million volunteers on 20,000 projects in over 100 countries. Good Deeds Day is an international day of volunteering.

VCTT has expanded its network to mobilize volunteers to work on projects in eleven (11) countries to celebrate the next Good Deeds Day on April 7, 2019. The countries include Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Jamaica, Haiti, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Guyana, Dominican Republic, Curacao, Dominica and St Vincent and Grenadines. Good Deeds Day will be launched in Trinidad & Tobago in April.

In 2018, VCTT recruited, trained and connected 186 skilled volunteers to 10 NGOs/CBOs in Trinidad & Tobago.

VCTT’s mission is to connect people, fuel hope & collaborate for change based in Trinidad & Tobago.  Its main objectives are:

  • To make volunteerism engaging and accessible
  • To connect skilled volunteers with volunteer opportunities which support the Sustainable Development Goals
  • To develop high impact volunteer initiatives to assist with creating an enabling environment for the growth and sustainability of the voluntary sector
  • To sustain an innovative regional network for developing volunteerism
