The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) formally launched the Jamaica Social Stock Exchange (JSSE) on 22 January 2019 in an effort to promote the cross-sector development partnerships to address social inequity in Jamaica.

With many companies and banks eager to find investments that generate business and social returns, it is hoped that this platform will help grow and connect the emerging market of impact investing.  Impact investing combines the traditional profit-driven business models with philanthropy, impact investors and social entrepreneurs in ways that allow companies to be both profitable and have a positive social impact.
