One Caribbean, One Sea
The fourth issue of ApaNa magazine focuses on protecting the environment with climate change mitigation initiatives, supporting causes for better health and philanthropy that has impacted the lives of Caribbean people – young and old. We cover renewable energy and tree planting for climate change mitigation, corporate social responsibility that supports breast cancer awareness and support for ‘conquerors’. We highlight the philanthropic journey of women who felt the need to give back to their adopted country and have now passed the baton to younger ones. We included interviews and stories from Caribbean leaders in the development, private and civil society sectors.
Corporate Caribbean's Response to COVID-19
In this third issue, we have focused on sustainability as we endeavour to survive and adapt to the ‘new normal’ that has come to define this COVID-19 era. To this end, we feature interviews and articles on ‘coral reefs in crisis’, tackling food insecurity, building business resilience and embracing technology which is disrupting the future of work. Our flagship section for this issue demonstrates how Caribbean businesses and philanthropists supported the fight against COVID-19 and we include some corporate donations to governments and communities in 10 Caribbean countries.
Caribbean and the SDGs: State of Progress
The second issue of ApaNa magazine focuses on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to which the Caribbean member-states committed in 2015 and their progress to attaining the SDG targets associated with those goals. We also cover one of the goals SDG 12: Responsible Production and Consumption and how SDGs are impacting businesses’ view of corporate social responsibility. We also look at volunteerism and the SDGs with included interviews and stories from people and organisations to gain some insight into what they are doing towards achieving the SDGs, their responsible business practices and community engagement. In light of the current global impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, we also discuss how philanthropy can support nonprofits in communities.
Towards A Circular Economy: Beyond Recycling
